Terms of service.

The rules for using the hosted Virling service. Plain language, and a first draft.

About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Stacklance Infotech LLP, Surat, Gujarat, India ("we", "us"), the maker of Virling. They cover the hosted Virling service at beta.virling.com, its API and MCP server, and this website and the docs (together, the "service"). By creating an account, signing in or using the service, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

You must be at least 16 years old. If you use the service for a company, you confirm you can bind that company, and "you" means the company.

Self-hosting is not covered. Virling's code is open source under the AGPL-3.0. If you run it on your own server, the AGPL-3.0 governs your use of the code, and these terms do not apply to your install. Self-hosters run the software at their own risk and responsibility, with no support or warranty from us beyond what the AGPL-3.0 and the repository say.

The service

Virling joins payments from your payment provider to the website visits before them, and shows which channels bring paying customers. It includes a tracking script, reports, weekly emails, AI answers and a read-only MCP server. What each part does is described in the docs and the privacy policy, and that is all we promise it does.

The hosted service is a beta. Features can change, break or be removed, and the numbers it shows are estimates that depend on how you set it up. Do not rely on them as accounting, tax or legal records.

Plans are Personal and Agency. Paid hosted plans are not open yet; today the hosted beta is free to try. Prices, what each plan includes and the price of extra seats are on the pricing page and in the hosted plan docs. Agency includes 3 users, and each extra seat on the hosted service is $9 a month.

Your account

An account is an email address, and you sign in with a link we email you. You are responsible for your email account, for everything done through your sign-in, API keys and connected apps, and for the people you invite to your team. Tell us at once at hello@virling.com if you think someone else has access. Give us accurate information and keep it current.

Payment provider keys

To join payments to visits you connect a payment provider. We ask for keys that can only read, such as a Stripe restricted key, and we refuse Stripe secret keys. Some providers, such as LemonSqueezy, cannot limit a key to read-only. Virling uses keys only to read payments, refunds and subscriptions, and never creates, changes or refunds anything. Keys are stored encrypted. You are responsible for the keys you create, for the access they give, and for deleting or rolling them at your provider if you want our access to end. The privacy policy has the details.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break the law, or use the service to break the rights of others
  • send us data you have no right to send, or collect visitor data without a lawful basis
  • attack, probe, overload or disrupt the service, or get around its limits, rate limits or access controls
  • try to access another customer's data or accounts
  • send spam or malware, or use the service to harass anyone
  • resell, sublicense or offer the hosted service to others as your own service without our written permission (using Virling to report to your own clients, as the Agency plan is meant for, is fine)
  • use the service in a way that puts it, us or other customers at risk

Your visitors and your data

You own your data: the events, payments and other content you send to the service or connect to it. You give us the right to store, process and display it only as needed to run the service for you, including through the providers named in the privacy policy, and to keep the service safe.

When you add the Virling script to a site, you decide why and how visitor data is collected, and you are responsible for having a lawful basis for it and for giving your visitors any notices, consent choices and privacy policy that the law requires where you operate and where they live. On the hosted service we handle that data on your behalf. You promise that you have the right to send us the data you send.

We may use anonymous, combined statistics about how the service is used to run and improve it. We do not sell personal data.

AI answers and the MCP server

AI answers asks questions of third-party AI providers and shows what they reply. Those answers can be wrong, incomplete or different from one run to the next, and we do not control them. Check anything important before you act on it. If you connect an AI assistant to the MCP server, the assistant's company handles what it reads under its own terms. You decide whether to connect it.

Fees, taxes and refunds

Paid plans are billed in advance each month through Dodo Payments, in the currency and at the price shown when you sign up. Dodo Payments handles your payment details, and we never see your card number. Prices exclude taxes such as GST or VAT where they apply, and you are responsible for them. If a payment fails we may suspend the paid features until it is paid.

Paid plans start with a 14-day trial. You can cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged. There are no refunds after the trial ends. The full rules, including founding pre-orders and how to cancel, are on the refund and cancellation page, which is part of these terms. We can change prices with at least 30 days' notice before the change reaches you, and a founding price stays as the pricing page describes.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account at hello@virling.com. See the privacy policy for how deletion works.

We can suspend or end your access, with notice where we reasonably can, if you break these terms, do not pay, put the service or other people at risk, or if we are required to by law. We can also end the service or a feature, with reasonable notice. On termination you lose access, and what you owe up to that date stays owed. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as payment, liability, indemnity and governing law, survive.

Availability

We work to keep the service running, but we give no uptime guarantee and no service levels. It can be unavailable for maintenance, failures of our providers, or reasons outside our control. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot lose.

Disclaimer

The service, including the beta and AI answers features, is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law permits, we give no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that the service will be uninterrupted, error free, accurate, or fit for a particular purpose.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost profit, revenue, data or goodwill, even if we were told it could happen. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Indemnity

You will defend and cover us against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) from a third party that arise from your misuse of the service, your breach of these terms, or data you sent us without the right to send it, including claims by your visitors or customers about how you collected their data.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For a material change we will give notice, by email to the address on your account or in the service, at least 14 days before it takes effect, except where a change is needed sooner for legal or security reasons. We also change the date at the top of this page, and the history is public in the GitHub repository. If you keep using the service after the change takes effect, you accept it. If you do not, stop using the service and cancel.

Governing law and courts

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts of Surat, Gujarat have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute about them or the service. Please write to us first at hello@virling.com, and we will try to settle it in good faith.

Everything else

These terms, the refund and cancellation page and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between us about the service and replace earlier understandings. If part of them is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. If we do not enforce a right, we have not given it up. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent; we may transfer ours as part of a sale or reorganisation of our business.
